Aliens Vs. Predator Multiplayer Demo Now Available
“I’m gonna eat ya with my little mouth!”
Word on the street was that Rebellion would release a demo for the updated AvP, but there hadn’t been confirmation whether or not it would be before the full game’s release. Just shy of two weeks before AvP ships, you can now get the multiplayer demo on Steam, Playstation Network and Xbox Live.
From the Steam News page:
The multiplayer demo will allow gamers the chance to play as all three species – the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien – and pitch their skills against each other in Deathmatch mode on Refinery, one of the game’s multiplayer maps.
Sweet cuppin’ cakes, I can’t wait. The original AvP and sequel provided me with some of my fondest multiplayer moments ever, despite its crappy net code (and playing on 56k!). There’s nothing more satisfying than lurking in the shadows as ol’ banana brain and pouncing on an unsuspecting Marine. Game over, man. Game over.
The full version is set for release in North America on February 16, 2010.

A little part of my soul died on Monday when I tried the demo out. It was so close to what it should have been. Graphic design is there; environments are properly spooky and the character models and movements are fantastic. It just pains me that the gameplay experience is such a hollow shell of what made AvP and AvP2 so great.
